My Practice in a Nutshell
I blend evidence-based counselling with professional coaching techniques to empower you to create meaningful, lasting change.
Using a tailored toolkit of therapeutic strategies, I support you in overcoming challenging thoughts and feelings that may be holding you back from living your best life. Grounded in trusted principles, with a focus on Cognitive Therapies and timeless methods, our work together provides a resilient and effective foundation for growth.
What sets my practice apart is the integration of coaching skills that help you set clear, actionable goals and develop practical strategies. While talk therapy is vital in exploring insights and awareness, coaching accelerates progress.
We set weekly tasks together to guiding you confidently on your path forward.
Together, we’ll work to transform challenges into opportunities, empowering you to live with purpose and confidence.

Science reveals the strong connection between the mind and body during healing that tells us how our mental state influences stress and growth, making healthy processing of feelings as crucial. Though so many of us are stoic, and taught to ignore or suppress thoughts and emotions to "move on."
In reality, suppressing feelings often intensifies unwanted thoughts, hindering healing. Our nervous system sometimes plays a vital role in moving forward with lasting change Working with this knowledge we learn to accept and face our thoughts and feelings in a balanced and safe way.
Stress, including trauma, can be more common than we think and not limited to major life events like we are taught. Everyday situations can sometimes project similar stress responses like anxiety with the same impact as traumas. Addressing this involves paying attention to not only our mental health, but also our environments. This can be home and work, and family occasions. It’s also now well recognised that caring for our physical health is equally important when healing. This is why my approach is holistic. It is not about claimed magic tricks but rather focused on understanding and nurturing the entire self to facilitate healing and positive change effectively.
What is it?
Everyone deserves access to healing.
I understand that not everyone can meet my standard rate, which is why I believe in economic justice and a community approach.
This model recognises our different circumstances. Offering you a sliding scale makes support accessible.
How it works:
Think of a bucket representing your resources: being not just money, but energy and stability.
Some buckets are full, while others are half-empty or leaking. My standard fees can be difficult for some while easier for others.
My 'Bucket Sliding Scale' adjusts payments based on your means, focusing on equity over affordability.
If you find it difficult to meet the 'true' rate, email me & we can chat and find a solution on the bucket scale,
You're welcome to explore the guide for fee options.
Front Line Workers & Adults Over 65
Nurses, Teachers, Social Workers, and Emergency Services are encouraged to email me, as I have a set reduced rate. I also apply a set reduced rate for adults 65 years old and over.

Working from my peaceful, quiet home environment, I provide an stress-free space. I am available evenings and weekends and tailor sessions to create the support you need.
There are two spaces I work from. Both of which are built on providing a safe and meaningful space that is less clinical and more like a home away from home. I work from a larger space during the week and have a more tailored space during weekends and evenings. There is never an issue with parking and walking to where we do our sessions is as easy as a dozen steps once you arrive.
I space out my appointments with at least half an hour in between them so there is never a chance of your privacy being breached.

Many of us in this industry have a specific passion.
My focus is on helping people heal from strong held emotions and thoughts. These emotions can sometimes just stay beneath the surface, but always there. A little bit of work can make a tremendous difference for both men and women who are dealing with strong emotions or thoughts that can make daily living tough on us. These are not just historical, and be something very recent.
My goal is to build a strong partnership so you have the tools achieve peace and growth.Be that:
- Anxiety
-Sadness
- Frustration
- Trust

I am a born Wellingtonian who returned about a decade ago.
I love the windy city’s vibe, rich culture, and warm smiles despite the changes Over the years things have rocked us a bit. This is why I work within your budget and do my best to make my services affordable. Feel free to email me with your story and any questions you have so we can work together in a partnership for healing.

I started working with people at risk in the early 2000's . I went on to work with families who were affected by violence and people impacted by mental health.
I then started running teams of counsellors and managing regional contracts.
Finally I wanted a practice of my own where I can work with people who want someone that has a hard working ethic and therapeutic by nature:
But importantly qualified and experienced.

I studied Counselling before moving into the Trauma Informed Practice.
My training is from both recognised universities here in New Zealand and abroad. I have also trained with specialist programs in the UK, the States and Australia. My training of integrative skills and techniques were chosen to build my craft in different stages of growth throughout my career.
I continue professional development as many of us do. This is an effort to provide effective, comprehensive support that is evidence based and relevant.
I am always trying to find the most effective and trusted new ideas as well as always following older tried and true methods.

I work traditional Monday to Friday by appointment from 9:00 am to 5:30pm.
Hours outside the average:
I also offer evenings during week and weekends for people unable to meet during the day Monday to Friday. This is of course at no added cost outside standard fees.
